Keen political observers have noticed the selfish traits and the negative characterisation of the ladies in question, but it was only after the popular Mrs Joe Koroma touched on it in her latest audio that it triggered the attention of many Sierra Leoneans.

At a time when Sierra Leone is at crossroads and the people are suffering like nobody’s business thanks to Maada Bio’s autocracy, the country definitely needs the compassion of every patriotic Sierra Leonean including but not limited to the above named prominent female individuals.

Sadly, they are silent like the cemetery. Exhibiting selfishness above patriotism is something that is not auguring well for the suffering masses. Many names besides Lara and Femi have come to mind following the recent brilliant audio released by the female of the moment Mrs Joe Koroma, who is rightly labelled as the Mother of democracy.

What did she say in her latest audio? Simply put, Mrs Joe Koroma correctly highlighted the selfish behaviour of Lara and Femi. Femi disgraced herself by blasting Concern Sierra Leoneans for organising the December 10, 2024 protest for the elections data. Femi, once respected for her patriotism, had the nerves to disassociate herself from the genuine peaceful protesters. Live on social media, Femi who is now a brown envelope receiver insulted Concern Sierra Leoneans.

Sad to see Femi shooting herself in the foot! As for the overtly selfish Lara Taylor-Pearce, the former Auditor General, she was sacked over two years ago by the corrupt President Maada Bio. Recently, Lara’s name resurfaced again when inept parliamentarians made her sacking official amid public outcry.

Mrs Joe Koroma rightly highlighted Lara’s selfish attitude. At a glance, it was clear and unsurprising that Lara has never commented on any burning national issues since the tyranny of Maada Bio’s presidency took power on April 4, 2018. Lara’s silence despite all the numerous social, economic and political problems is deafening and conspicuous. Her selfishness and total disregard for the affairs of Sierra Leoneans are succinct. While the people show care for Lara in her personal problems with Bio, Lara has not reciprocated in kind. Shame on you, Lara and Femi.

Bravo, to Mrs Joe Koroma for reminding the people about the selfish nature of these females in our midst. Disappointingly, there are more high profile female politicians in Sierra Leone who have shown and continue to exhibit selfishness of the highest proportion. Lipstick Aki is one of the traitors of democracy in Sierra Leone. There is one thing that all these four selfish female individuals Femi, Lara, Sylvia and Aki have in common. What is the common denominator here? The quartet hail from the respectable Krio ethnicity! This is not about tribalism. It is just food for thought.

It reminds everyone that a few bad eggs can damage the good image of a very decent and revered tribe. Who the selfish cap fits, let them wear it? As for Mrs Joe Koroma, the Mother of Democracy, who recently added her golden voice in the fight for electoral justice, she has let the cats out of the bag. God bless her and all the freedom fighters.

The uniqueness of Mrs Joe Koroma needs to be highlighted for readers who do not know her properly. Mrs Joe Koroma is unique in that she is married to one of the most famous families, if not the most famous family in Sierra Leone today, i.e. the Koroma family of Sierra Leone’s former President Ernest Koroma. So, for Mrs Joe Koroma to stand up for electoral justice has apparently put her above other campaigners.
