She is the beloved mother of social media blogger and political activist Mr Imran Turay, widely known and respected as Imran T. The late Mama Isa Turay, 98 years old, passed away peacefully to eternity yesterday morning in Kambia. (Photo: Late Mama Isa Turay, RIP).

Like all beautiful, sweet mothers, Imran T loved his mother so much that he missed her dearly every minute of the day. I vividly remember Mr Imran T during the United Nations Security Council petition meeting in New York in 2023 when he shed tears in the presence of UN officials for missing his mum.

Mr Imran T, who was among other patriotic Sierra Leone petitioners including Dr Venod Fullah, Mr Kabs Kanu, Mr Abu Shaw, Ms Salamatu Kamara, Mr Yusuf, others, at the UN headquarters, said he could not visit Sierra Leone to see his elderly mum because of his critical role against Maada Bio’s illegality.

Three years later yesterday, Imran T’s fear came to pass after his lovely Mama sadly passed away to eternity. May her soul RIP. Speaking to brother Imran T last night, he said his elderly Mama Isa Turay’s exact age at her passing was 98 years, 2 months and 30 days old. “She was therefore one day short of 98 years and 3 months. In total, she lived 35,853 days (assuming standard calendar). May her beautiful soul rest in perfect peace. She was a dedicated wife for 76 years and a mother of 8, and numerous grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. Mama’s date of birth was 14/05/1928; she passed on 13/08/2026,” Imran T, the brilliant orator, said.

Sweet mothers, who died in the struggle, will never be forgotten. Late Mama Isa Turay wanted to see her patriotic son, Imran T, before her passing, but she always advised him not to return to Sierra Leone for his health and safety. Ooh, sweet mother. RIP. Mama died a strong EJ believer and was proud of her brave son.

The entire electoral justice campaign and the people of Sierra Leone extend their warmest sympathy to Imran T for the passing of her beautiful mother. May her soul rest in perfect peace. Her blessing and the blessings of all sweet mothers, dead or alive, will see the restoration of democracy occur very shortly.
