Bonga Town Flood Residents Hail Fadika Family for their Empathy

By a press release (09/09/17

Empathy obviously runs deep in the veins of the Fadika family as recently exhibited by Lansana Fadika to flooding victims in Bonga Town.

This was proved once more during the series of floods that recently hit Freetown by one of them, Lansana Fadika, the brother of late APC strongman and humanitarian Moseray Fadika (SUPER) who suddenly passed away in London last year. (Pictured: Late Moseray Fadika, widow and children).

When another heavy downpour of rain occurred on Saturday 26th August that affected different vulnerable communities in Freetown, one community that was severely affected was Bonga Town, a shanty creek side community back of Wilkinson Road that looks towards the Lumley Golf Course.

Hundreds of homes were affected by the flood waters. One of the first people to rush to the aid of the victims was Sierra Leone’s Trade and Cultural attaché to China, Lansana Fadika.

The helpless victims whose houses had been filled with water rushed to his house back of Freetown Supermarket. Sympathetically, he opened wide his gate to them. Over three hundred people took shelter in his compound.

As emergency relief, he provided them with clothing, water and food. He urged them to be calm and to register with the authorities to qualify for relief assistance that is being provided for flood victims by the government, NGOs and state institutions.

The Bonga Town people, highly appreciative of his concern for their welfare, have heaped lots of praises on him whilst praying that God bless him and his family.

Mr. Lansana Fadika is among the many kind hearted Sierra Leoneans who have responded to the landslide and flooding in Freetown by providing cash and other materials to aid the thousands of affected people.
