Kailahun SLPP Party Residents Demand a Female MP for Parliament Now!!

By Philip Koroma (07/07/17)

The opposition Sierra Leone People's Party stalwarts are urged to ensure a female representation in parliament come 2018 elections.

Reports say residents of Constituency 007 and proposed Constituency 008 in the Njaluahun chiefdom Kailahun district are urging their SLPP party for this change as their decision is aimed at ensuring that development is realised in the constituency. (Pictured: The people believe a woman parliamentarian will usher development like this hospital in Kailahun).

They disclosed that over the period, most of the parliamentary representatives in constituency 007 have been male which clearly disenfranchises women to showcasing their potentials for adequate representation.

The constituents have identified one Guanya Foday, whom they believed could adequately represent them in parliament after the 2018 general elections in Sierra Leone.

“We now need a woman to represent us in parliament after 2018 elections no matter what,” they affirmed.
