Freetown City Council FCC Shares an Inspired Vision for Management Workers!
By a press release (24/05/18)
The Freetown City Council (FCC) has held a team building and visioning day with management staff to inspire them to transforming the city.
Reports say the exercise on May 18 at the Civil Service Training College, State Avenue, was geared to capture participants’ thoughts on what a positively transformed Freetown would look like versus what a further deteriorated city would look like. The process was to further get FCC management staff to work together effectively as a team especially in driving the Mayors vision for the city in- 'Fɔ wi Kɔmyuniti, Fɔ wi Progrɛs and Fɔ wi Fritɔng'.
Speaking at the function, the Freetown City Mayor Madam Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr noted that the exercise is to further prepare the mind set and physical participation of workers to drive her agenda of transforming the city with the wider participation of residents of Freetown.
Madam Aki-Sawyerr said that they were collectively going to ensure that there would be different levels of improvements in every single sector. She said, "Our collective view is that the Freetown we’re sitting in today is not the Freetown we’ll be sitting in four years’ time."
Later on in the exercise, Joe Abass Bangura, CEO of Life by Design, delivered a motivational talk on the topic, 'The Road to the Top'.
He admonished the workers to take full responsibility within the work environment of the city council and to be efficient in executing their responsibilities with competence and diligence.
At the end of the exercise, participants were left fully motivated and committed towards a shared vision of driving a plan in making Freetown a better place.
