Has Former VP Victor Foh Disowns APC Party in Favour of New Statesman Lifestyle?

By John Koroma (29/04/18)

Former Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Mr. Victor Bockarie Foh has said he is no longer APC partisan but the party is not aware.

Victor told this press that he now wants to take on a neutral role as an Elder Statesman trusted by all political parties to render advice to them independently. Foh, who used to be considered as one of the most loyal APC stalwarts, made his startling disclosure yesterday Thursday 19th April 2018, during an exclusive chat with this media house. The former APC strongman added that he is now like the mother of twins, triplets, quadruplets, quintuplets and more. Such a woman by nature has to feed milk from her breast to more than one child. In the same way, the now-retired former APC strongman says he has to feed his reservoir milk of political knowledge to all the registered political parties in Sierra Leone. He went on to say that he is willing and ready to help in maintaining the peace and democracy of the country.

He said since his complete welfare is now being taken care of from State funds, he should now be considered as a retired politician in service to only the State.

“If I put APC party business in my head, it will deter me from serving the State,’’ said Victor Foh, adding that he no longer has the strength to be involved in activities of APC which is now in opposition having lost the presidential elections.

Mr. Foh prefers to serve in the capacity of a national referee standing right in the middle to address national issues. He added he should be seen as a national figure embracing all political parties and serving all institutions of the country.

He concluded by calling all Sierra Leoneans including members of political parties to put party interests aside and work in the interest of the State and by so doing, the country will grow and develop.

However, when contacted, the National Secretary General of the opposition APC, Alhaji Osman Foday Yansaneh, refused to comment on the issue because he said the APC party is yet to receive the official retirement letter from VP Foh.
