Bio Accused of Selling the SLPP Running Mate Slot to Juldeh for US$100,000!

Competent sources in the SLPP party say presidential candidate Maada Bio reportedly received US$100,000 for the SLPP running mate slot.
It is intimated in Sierra Leone that the SLPP running mate position was sold for 100,000 United States dollars to Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, who was surprisingly selected by Maada Bio last week. (Photo: When Maada and Juldeh met in Paris).
SLPP sources say the failed Guinean opposition leader Cellou Dalein Diallo, the mastermind behind this deal, recently initiated the dubious transaction with the SLPP leader Julius Maada Bio in Conakry, the capital of Guinea, before both men jetted to France where they met Juldeh to seal the corrupt deal.
Many political observers believe, the SLPP has a popular candidate from the Fullah ethnicity in the person of Mr. Alpha Timbo, a hardcore and dedicated SLPP politician, who was widely expected to be named the running mate for the March 7, 2018 elections.
The cash-trapped SLPP party needs all the dollars, no matter how little, to beef up its beleaguered campaign strategies for the March 2018 general elections. It is no surprise that even the SLPP party also confirmed that since 2002, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh has financially supported the SLPP in all general elections campaigns.
"Money speaks louder in Sierra Leone politics. We all know that Alpha Timbo was the first SLPP aspirant who openly denounced his flagbearer candidacy to support Maada Bio's aspirations to lead the SLPP. Maada has not only betrayed Timbo, but the entire party if this bribery story is true," angry SLPP supporters informed theorganiser.net newspaper.
It remains to be seen in the near future if Alpha Timbo will reconsider his SLPP membership, especially his support for Maada Bio, in the aftermath of this disappointment.
"Running Mate Juldeh being Financial Sponsor of the Party since 2002," SLPP Confirms!
The SLPP Presidential Candidate, Julius Maada Bio has been commended by voters across political parties and many independent voters on his decision to appoint Dr Juldeh Jalloh as his Vice Presidential Candidate for the 7th March 2018 elections.
The decision which was announced through a Press Release on Wednesday 10th January 2018 and signed by Rtd. Brigadier Julius Maada Bio, the SLPP Presidential Candidate highlighted Dr Juldeh Jalloh’s wealth of experience at both national and international levels.
At the international level, Dr Juldeh Jalloh worked for the United Nations as a Senior Advisor in Mali, Sahel Advisor to the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General for West Africa and the Sahel and also served as the West African Analyst for the International Crisis Group (ICG). At the national level, Dr Juldeh Jalloh supported the Campaign for Good Governance in reinforcing democracy in the country from 2004 to 2006.
According to the release, Dr Juldeh Jalloh was born in Kono district to a Temne mother and a Fula father, both of whom hailed from Port Loko district. He is also a graduate of Fourah Bay College, University of Ibadan in Nigeria and the University of Bordeaux in France. Dr Juldeh Jalloh is fluent in both English, French and many local languages.
Despite working for the United Nations and the International Crisis Group, Dr Juldeh Jalloh has also been actively supporting the SLPP since he registered in 2002. Since 2002, he has financially supported the SLPP in all general elections campaign, voted for SLPP in general elections and also provided both technical and financial support to the Bishop Humper Peace Initiative that was set up to propagate peace and unity in the SLPP.
Less than 24 hours after Dr Juldeh Jalloh’s appointment, Rtd. Brigadier Julius Maada Bio has been praised for his decision. One SLPP YG leader said: “The decision shows that Bio will be a great President capable of uniting the country beyond religious, ethnic and regional divides. I am very impressed that eventhough Dr Juldeh Jalloh was working for the United Nations yet he was financially supporting the Party and voting for SLPP at general elections. Let us now offer the country two young men who will work for the common people.”
A female independent voter, Mariama, described the decision: “I do not belong to any political party and I was still thinking who to vote for. I like the CV of Juldeh as a young man from a humble background who attended Ahmadiyyah and rose to a senior position in United Nations. Working at Campaign for Good Governance also means that he is civil society oriented and believes in democratic values. Bio has made a good choice and he has my vote.”
