Meet the New SLRSA Boss Memunatu Koroma, a Team Player and Academic Icon!

Admirers of the new SLRSA boss, Memunatu Koroma, say she is a seasoned administrator who will successfully steer the SLRSA ship.
According to Chanakya an ancient Indian Philosopher who is also regarded as one of the world's first political scientist once posited that education is the best friend. An educated person is respected everywhere. Education beats the beauty and the youth. This postulation can best describe Mrs. Memunatu Koroma, (photo) the new Executive Director of the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority SLRSA.
Reports say Memunatu's appointment is one of the best decisions made so far by the Board of Directors of the SLRSA and her appointment came at a time when the Board and Management of the Authority needed personality like her to compliment government's efforts in restoring sanity in the transport sector and thus achieve the mandate of the SLRSA as stated by law.
Mrs. Memunatu Koroma is unarguably the best and obviously the youngest to have held such position in the history of SLRSA taking into consideration her clean academic credentials backed by the wealth of experience she brought into the job.
She is an Economist with extensive understanding of economic theories and its practical applications and policy implications. Some of the key attributes that makes her stands out among the numerous economists in Sierra Leone is her experience in undertaking analytical work and research projects couple with project development skills. She has an active commitment to continuously improving quality standards and result orientation when performing statistical analysis sector and economic data.
In September 2008 Mrs Koroma was Head of Strategic Planning and Research at HFC Mortgage and Savings Sierra Leone a position she held for 3 years before she joined the Consumer Finance and Leasing as Head of Operation from 2011 to March 2013.
Mrs Memunatu Koroma was Economist for the Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Sector in 2013 where some of her key responsibilities were to carry out in dept political economic analysis of policies and institutions in the WASH Sector; identify specific institutional reforms and capacity building opportunities in the WASH Sector among others.
Mrs Memunatu Koroma graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics degree from Fourah Bay College University of Sierra Leone.
She's a double Masters Degree holder one in Business Administration (MBA 2011) and M.Sc. in Economics (2015) from the Institute of Public Administration and Management - IPAM and Fourah Bay College University of Sierra Leone.
Mrs. Memunatu Koroma has attended and actively participated in national and international conferences, seminars and workshops. She has also served as Consultant for many reputable Agencies including Ecofin Consultancy, United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to name a few.
Aunty Mem as she is fondly called is a woman who believes that coming together is the beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success. And this makes her not only a seasoned administrator but a selfless team player as well. She's a true definition of what many referred to as 'Beauty With Brain'.
