Former SLPP Government First Lady Refutes Joining the Ruling APC Party
By K - APC (02/05/17)
Startling revelation making the rounds on social media that the former first lady in Sierra Leone has cross-carpeted to the APC is untrue.
According to the former wife of the late President Ahmad Tejan Kabbah, Isata Jabbie Kabbah (pictured) the reports about joining the APC party are false and misleading.
Report that Isata Jabbie Kabbah, known widely as I.J. has endorsed the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara, an APC flag-bearer, to be the next President of Sierra Leone, has also been denied, let alone talk about I.J. being his running mate.
Below is the press release rebuttal made by I.J. few hours after the story hits the newsstand: “My attention has been drawn to a video clip making the rounds on social media; ostensibly of me making a light hearted statement at a social forum with my friends.
“Apparently my joke fell flat and some of my actions may have even been in poor taste to some of my family and friends. I take full responsibility for my actions. It is regrettable and I can only crave your understanding and forgiveness.
“My statements are of no consequence especially given the circumstances they were made. I remain a staunch and unabashed member of the Sierra Leone Peoples Party and nothing has changed.
“I thank you all for your understanding,”
Mrs I J Kabbah
