Welfare Minister and NUSS President Visit Injured Student in Bo Hospital

By Abdulai Koroma (26/04/17)

Warm welcome for the Social Welfare Minister Dr. Sylvia Blyden and NUSS President after they visited a wounded Njala student in Bo.

Minister Blyden’s visit in the southern province was highlighted after the colourful launching of the Kori Family Development Association where the Minister danced barefooted with Bondo women including SLPP parliamentarian Gladys Gbappy Brima. (Pictured: NUSS boss, left).

Subsequently, the dancing queen and her delegation paid a courtesy visit to student Morlu at his Njala Bo Campus dormitory just as he was being discharged from Hospital.

She was accompanied by the National Union of Sierra Leone Students NUSS President Osman Bikal and other MSWGCA officials like Social Welfare Director shown handing cash over to Morlu whilst Bikal looks on.

This was Minister Blyden’s second visit to Morlu. Her first hospital visit was over two weeks back when she went to check him whilst admitted at the Bo hospital.

Mr. Morlu says he has been overwhelmed with the kindness from government especially through the visible visits by a high profile Minister.

Morlu is the Njala student who was initially reported dead after he suffered bullets shot into his abdomen during the Njala students’ unrest last month in Bo.
