"Minkailu Mansaray is Effective to Succeed President Koroma," People Say

By Mahmud Tim Kargbo (20/04/17)

As the APC slot gradually becomes vacant, APC stalwarts want to succeed President Ernest Koroma. Who is fit to wear the cap?

Many agree that the most excellent ways to ensure that a Presidential flagship aspirant relationship develops into a credible potential Presidential material is to create a way for the APC membership and supporters across the board to sample his political tricks and in turn give his tricks the opportunity to sample the people. (Pictured: Is Minkailu Mansaray smiling to the APC flagbearership?

The purest path to trod for the APC is to get a potential flagship that leads every prospect to determine, beyond the shadow of a doubt, whether his leadership skills has the answer to address the current economic challenges we currently face as a nation or, and this is equally important, whether he's sufficiently equipped to unite the country, party and bring together the aggrieved and the happy people to form a united front and give APC the victory to sustain the Party in governance.

If the only route the potential APC flagship can take is directly to the sales pitch and expects the members and supporters to buy his ideas, then a third option crawls into the mix with indifference. Indifference is what leads to political parties Presidential flagship who come because they only sense opportunity, they make unreasonable promises, and push the party outside it core value proposition once they get power. That's why if you fail to give voters their choice in transitional elections they will certainly tell ten friends not to hire your choice.

In this phase, anticipations are everything. No matter what you think is good or bad, if it’s not what the constituent expected, it can raise a red flag. For example, one might be rather haphazard about getting his choice out and think, “Well, the constituent won’t mind if I don’t give them their choice after all they are all APC members and they're loyal to the party. To the constituents this can signal sloppiness on your part (not to mention disaster from a potential negative voting -flow standpoint).

Do you have an orientation process? A kit of information that explains everything and identifies everyone the new supporters and members needs to know in case of problems or in order to move forward? Is there a clean process by which a project is handed from the sales team to the service team? (Even if that’s the same person, it’s a process that’s important especially in this transitional elections where the people are very reluctant to register because they're dissatisfy with the majority of their politicians.)

To save the All People's Congress from potential headaches and keep it as a united force to face any opposition challenges, stakeholders, ordinary members and supporters of the All People's Congress are sincerely asking the Minster of Mineral Resources, Minkailu Mansaray, who's battle tested in a number of positive ways with effective leadership skills to declare his interest for the APC Presidential flagship race.

Mr. Sulaiman Brima from Kenema said: "We believe Hon. Minkailu Mansaray is an effective political leader to press ahead with the economic challenges of the country and the APC party; he's not a "hustler". That's he's not the type of politician who uses manipulation to get what he want from his people. He believe in inspiring and motivating his people to get what he want from them. One of the key leadership qualities  Minkailu Mansaray possesses which many political leaders currently eying the seat of President Koroma lack is his ability to take responsibility and his special fear for God Almighty. A lot of political leaders are very adept at pointing the finger at everyone else and few seem able to accept responsibility for their mistakes, admit their political failures and acknowledge their own contribution to a problem".

Sahr Boima in Kono said: "For Hon. Minkailu Mansaray Accountability is crucial to effective political leadership, as without this, there will be no respect from the followers. An effective political leader to succeed President Koroma within the APC is someone like Hon. Minkailu Mansaray who is honest, committed to the country, Party, leadership and responsible for his own actions and decisions and who will be willing to admit when his government make a mistake. Am sure with Hon. Minkailu Mansaray succeeding President Koroma his team will focus their energies and time on representing the people rather than spending all the time “covering their backs” and criticising others".

From Kailahum, Aminata Sillah said: "To help soothe our unnecessary suffering and promote happiness and optimal performance, specifically in the lives of the majority who happen to be the ordinary people, the interpersonal skills of Hon. Minkailu Mansaray to succeed President Koroma are crucial for effective expectations management in this transitional elections. The truth is whosoever will succeed President Koroma the expectations are high and expectations involve more than just calm, rational thought and British grammar.

They also reflect on the emotions of those who have expectations and the experience of the individual managing the team to meet with the expectations of the majority. When expectations are not satisfied, the disappointment and discord can be disturbing and difficult to manage. Hon. Minkailu Mansaray is the only man among the rest who properly understand the process and implications of decision-making.

To create the conditions for effective decision-making, it’s important for the APC to get Hon. Minkailu Mansaray as our successor to President Koroma. Hon. Minkailu Mansaray knows our problems more than any of these new Presidential flagship aspirants that's why we are asking him to declare his interest for the APC flagship race. They often say to solve a problem one must first understand it properly". "How can any of these new politicians who were never with us solve our problems effectively"? She added.

Answer Chairladies Abacha, Guard Street and Bombay: "We do, and fortunately he's impressively innovative. He is, of course, Hon. Minkailu Mansaray. Not only he have a strong vision, he understand that there’s a sequence to implementing his vision. He knows he couldn’t deal with Sierra Leone problems directly until he positively deal with keeping the human capacitation of all nationals together especially the youth who happen to form the bulk of our country's population. Also, as one of the stakeholders of the All People's Congress he do not orbit around ego. He orbits around the mission. Finally, he is a humanitarian who often not only forgive his opponents, but bring them within his midst to shine their understandings about what it means to be a patriotic and patience national to your country, Political Party and the Leadership."

Why Hon. Minkailu Mansaray and how can he motivate the national workforce?

Elsie Tucker from Bo: "We want Hon. Minkailu Mansaray to be our APC flagship and potential President of Sierra Leone because we believe he will be coming to fellow nationals as a political party Comrade and President that will offer his hand in partnership to the national workforce for the general good of all nationals irrespective of political party affiliation, tribal links and geographical location. We are strongly convince that when Hon. Minkailu Mansaray adheres to our call, he will become the APC flagship and later President of Sierra Leone who will deliver in his promise to lead and to serve beside all Sierra Leoneans as he work together with them to carry out the will of the Sierra Leone people. Hon. Minkailu Mansaray will be a President that will advocate for and celebrate with national employees to concretely turn the financial taps on. We honestly know Hon. Minkailu Mansaray is the only person in the current APC government to succeed President Koroma because he's the only man among the rest that will make clear that government service is a noble challenge and a public trust."

Dr. Mohamed Sesay Freetown Central: "The mission of the millions of fellow nationals within APC and beyond asking Hon. Minkailu Mansaray to declare his interest for the current APC Presidential flagship is for clear Economic Advancement Purpose that will increase sound economic opportunities for the grassroots in ways that will promote inclusive, open and prosperous Sierra Leone for all. Most of us believe with Hon. Minkailu Mansaray succeeding President Koroma in the helm of national affairs there will surely be Economic Advancement Programmes that will deploys investments, grants, economic policy advice that will builds stakeholder coalitions to influence the exercise of economic power in Sierra Leone. We are genuinely asking Hon. Minkailu Mansaray to tow our path by declaring his interest in the APC Presidential flagship race because we are very convince that he's passionate about the economic advancement of vulnerable economic actors in Sierra Leone. We know for sure that among those eying the APC flagship and Presidential seat to succeed President Koroma only Hon. Minkailu Mansaray owns a deep understanding of the landscape of civil society actors engaging the Private sector and Government to empower women and men smallholder farmers. And his strategy will work nationally much to the admiration of the locals and our International Development Partners."

Answer from an Anonymous speaker: "They often say old broom sweeps well because it knows all the corners in the compound. Well Hon. Minkailu Mansaray has being around the political limelight of Sierra Leone for long and with his perfect relation with the ordinary people and elite both within the APC and beyond, we believe his years of experience will build us a sound team of professionals to catch up with the test of times globally. The good thing about Hon. Minkailu Mansaray is he's an old man that is very willing to learn modern skills to catch up with the test of times and empower the youth irrespective of their political attachments. That's why you see youth around him always disturbing us elders to get him share his experience with them.

But don't forget Hon. Minkailu Mansaray also learn from them a lot, as you know youth of today don't go close to elders who aren't listening to their youthful terminologies. We are confident that with him as the APC Presidential flagship and potential President of Sierra Leone, he will sincerely develop a range of grants that combine with investment, policy and engagement work from our traditional and none traditional donor partners to transform the rural economy to empower smallholder farmers.

In short, because economic systems are complex, it takes a well battle tested political leader who doesn't sit on top of the pyramid enjoying the sufferings of the ordinary people to design an integrated approach to achieve genuine economic change. Make no mistake about it, it only takes the works of the collaborative leadership skills of Hon. Minkailu Mansaray to deliver both within Sierra Leone and with external entities, makes decisions about specific grants, contributing to the effective functioning of the economy across cultures and make Sierra Leone a wonderful place for us all".
