Deputy Internal Affairs Minister at Loggerheads with Police in Kenema

By Philip Koroma (12/04/17)

The recent murder of one Kenema resident has spilled bad blood between the police in Kenema and the Deputy Internal Affairs Minister.

Reports say the Deputy Minister Rtd. Major Sengu Koroma (pictured) has made threats on Star Line Radio in Kenema to temporarily shut down the Kamboi and Total facility in Kenema after the killing of one William Conteh in the early hours of Saturday 1st April 2017.

Sengu Koroma has blamed the leadership of the police in Kenema for not shutting down the said premises and not updating him on the said issues.

He has called on the civil society and media practitioners to visit the scene with him as he effect the closure. Reporter Philip Koroma was among those who were present at the Total and Kamboi facility.

As we go press, the Police Chief in Kenema and Minister Sengu Koroma were ordered to report to the Vice President Victor Foh's office in Freetown when an amicable solution between the two men was reached.
