Are the SLPP Law Makers in Disarray Even in the House of Parliament?
Asks N'Bompa Turay (12/04/17)
It's appalling to realise why some Members of Parliament of the Sierra Leone Peoples Party continue to show disunity even in parliament.
The SLPP is the oldest political party in Sierra Leone dating from its inception in April 27th 1951. The party had served the nation as government and opposition party in parliament at certain period. (Pictured: Is the SLPP hierarchy's recent peace pact has any impact?)
In the dispensation of democracy the masses are the masters who determined the political party to lead the nation. Also the electorates decide the party to be the opposition in parliament.
Some people misconstrue and misconceive the role of the opposition. It is the efficient and effective political watch dog that controls the checks and balances of the governance of the state.
A disciplined, erudite opposition party can work tirelessly with vigour to serve the masses as the party with another vision to accelerate the socio economic growth of the nation. Within a short time if the opposition party do not indulged in dubious political conspiracy will win the mandate of the masses for a peaceful democratic change of government's through voting in the ballot box.
Opposition parties that indulge in unforgivable falsehood, coup plots, killing of indigenes extra judiciary and abuse of women are disgrace enemies of the people and peace. In every society, political parties there are extremists, fanatics, power drunk seekers obsessed to gain power who can destroy innocent lives on the altar of false hood and coups.
Those vicious political sharks must be driven out. During coups the constitution can be suspended and the coup leader rule by decrees against the wishes of the masses and International Community.
The 2018 general election is very crucial to determine the democracy, and maturity leadership of Sierra Leone. The nation and all political parties must eschew violence senseless derailing of the democratic process, refrain from planning coup and must abide, respect and accept the verdict of the Electoral Commission.
From 2002 to 2007, it was less than twenty five (25) of them in parliament, but they acted proactively to unearth and outwit the nitty-gritty and lapses of their activities, than compared to their present honourables in parliament, because they are busy molesting and intimidating the minority and her deputy leader in parliament.
By the peaceful, progressive democratic performance in parliament and vivid evidence of implementation of development programmers the masses will choose their government and opposition leader.
THE MASSES NEED HONEST, UNBLEMISHED, PATRIOTIC, ERUDITE LEADERS WITH VISION TO BUILD A BETTER SIERRA LEONE. THERE ARE NO VACANCIES AT STATE HOUSE FOR DRUG ADDICTS, KILLERS, PERVARICATORS AND MIS-DIRECTED SO CALLED LEADERS THAT WILL RUIN THE COUNTRY INTO CESSPIT OF BACKWARDNESS AND POVERTY.
