Two Killed as SLPP Unleashes Police Brutality on APC Head Office in Freetown!

By a press release (01/01/19)

President Julius Maada Bio's SLPP govt continues to brutalise opposition parties, latest being the APC party as two people murdered in Freetown.

The police brutality began yesterday during a peaceful protest by the main opposition APC party against the rampant arrest and detention of APC members and northerners by the SLPP government who are determined to bring those arrested to their Commission of Inquiry which observers believe to be 'bias' and a 'witch-hunt'. During the protest around the APC Headquarters in Freetown, the SLPP government unleashed the police who brutally attacked the APC offices. In the melee, two innocent APC members were murdered and many others seriously wounded. More reports follows:

In Sierra Leone...As Paola Conteh Released on Bail...Citizens Accused Police of Brutality!

Former Minister of Defence in the erstwhile government, Rtd. Major Paolo Conteh, has been released on bail after spending three days in detention at the Criminal Investigation Department, (C.I.D) in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

He was invited for questioning by the country's anti-graft institution, the Anti-Corruption Commission, for alleged misappropriation of funds during his reign as Minister of Defence. A premise dismissed by some school of thought, as an act of mere intimidation, harassment and political witch hunt, stage managed by the current administration, as reported in my previous piece captioned "Plans To Arrest Paolo Conteh Leaked...A Case For Members Of The International Community". As established in my aforementioned piece, that is what exactly happened. Below are paragraphs of the piece under review. (Photo: Paolo Conteh, 2nd left, posed with APC leader Dr. Samura Kamara, 2nd right, after his bail yesterday).

"According to intelligence gathered by this Investigative Journalist, plans are on the way by some members of the security apparatus in Sierra Leone, to arrest the former Minister of Defence, Rtd. Major. Alfred Paolo Conteh, today Friday 28th December, for undisclosed reason and kept in custody till Monday 31st December, 2018?".

"This is not good for our growing democracy" adding; "It is very much important for members of the international community, who happens to be our moral guarantors to pay attention to the level of political intimidation, harassment and human right abuses presently going on in our beloved country" says Mariatu Bangura, a Sierra Leonean currently residing in the UK. As at press time, it is reported that several members and supporters of the main opposition All Peoples Congress (APC) have been beaten up, arrested and injured at their party office, including the former Deputy Minister of Health, Madam Zuliatu Copper and Abubakarr Daramy, by some members of the Sierra Leone Police Force, (SLP).

I rest my case.
