March 6 Deadline has Come & Gone & JFK Did Not Resign but Still Popular?
By the Ranger (11/03/17)
March 6th 2017 was trumpeted by certain quarters as the deadline for all the APC intending aspirants holding public offices to resign.
However, as far as supporters of Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara (the most likely choice to follow after President Ernest Koroma) it does not matter to them whether JFK resigns now or not because the reality is that they are ready to vote him in as the next president as long as he contests under the APC symbol.
Most supporters in Kailahun, Pujehun, Kambia and other areas recently toured by JFK are of the belief that they see in JFK (pictured) similar traits of President Koroma and that they are inspired by his achievements in the Judiciary since he came to office.
According to them, in the event JFK resigns now, they would still follow him all the way to the ballot box. They see him as the best choice to take up after President Koroma not only because the president has explicit trust and confidence in JFK but because JFK has been totally loyal, transparent, dedicated and accountable in all his actions and public addresses.
As all of this is going on, JFK has refused to be distracted by the several resignations doing the rounds in the country. He has remained focused, diligent and hard working while a number of his compatriots are engaged in worthless gallivanting all over the country in the name of political campaign.
