The meeting in the City of Pretoria on Sunday 26 February, 2017 also provided the opportunity for Sierra Leoneans in South Africa to express views about their current status and ask questions relating to development in their home country.
One of the issues the Sierra Leonean Community raised was the need for Sierra Leone to have a permanent representation in south Africa.
After the meeting the Sierra Leoneans had the opportunity to interact with the minister who told them that president Ernest Koroma is always having sleepless nights for the welfare of Sierra Leoneans in and outside Sierra Leone.
Other speakers like Alhassan Khanu of the Decentralisation Secretariat buttressed the facts and sentiments expressed by the Minister and equally assured them that things will be OK.
He further explained the purpose of their trip to South Africa and stated that it was equally important that the Minister and team meet with them.
