Police Arrest Nigerian Counterfeiter with 1 Million US Dollars in Liberian Currency!

By Augustine Dahn (19/07/18)

Liberian police in Nimba County have arrested a Nigerian smuggler with a staggering one million US dollars in Liberian counterfeit currency.

Speaking shortly to journalists after his arrest in Ganta in Nimba County on Wednesday, July 4 the Nigerian crook Ogochukwo P. Odon (photo) said the counterfeit Liberian banknotes were printed in Nigeria.

According to the 30 year old counterfeiter, the fake Liberian banknotes were printed in Nigeria with the sole intention of exchanging the counterfeits for United States dollars at a high rate of 165 Liberian dollars.

Police sources disclosed that the recent arrest of Ogochukwo P. Odon brings to two the number of Nigerian nationals arrested in recent times in Liberia in possession of counterfeit bank notes.

Not too long ago, police in Monrovia reportedly arrested an other Nigerian, a Clergyman in this case, who was in possession of huge sums of counterfeit US dollar notes.

As we go to press, the suspect is in custody awaiting trial in Liberia, according to police sources.
