African Migrants Captured by Libyan Gangs were Cooked Like Kebabs!!
By Nick Givas (02/12/17)
A former Nigerian government official has told the story of how Libyan slave traders captured African migrants, and cooked them “like kebabs.”
Former minister of culture for Nigeria Femi Fani-Kayode said many migrants from Africa traveled to the Mediterranean to improve their lives but ended up being enslaved instead, International Business Times reported Wednesday. (Photo: Black migrants lined-up like slaves in Libya).
Three out of four people captured by these gangs hail from southern Nigeria, Fani-Kayode said. Nigeria has the largest Christian population in Africa, according to Pew Research Center.
“75% of those sold into slavery in Libya who have their organs harvested, bodies mutilated and who are roasted like suya (kebab) are from southern Nigeria,” Fani-Kayode wrote. “Roasted alive! This is what Libyans do to sub-saharan Africans who are looking for a transit point to Europe.”
Fani-Kayode attributed part of the carnage to the overthrow of former Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi. He argued removing Gaddafi created a power vacuum that Libyan criminals were eager to fill.
“The greatest calamity that befell Africa in the last 20 years was the murder of Muammar Gaddafi in Libya,” he concluded.
Samuel Eto’o Denies Flying Cameroon Immigrants out of Libya
Legendary Cameroon attacker Samuel Eto'o has refuted claims that he paid for the flight carrying Cameroon immigrants out of Libya in the midst of the ongoing slave-trade at the North African country.
A picture showing hundreds of Cameroonians boarding a plane, reportedly charted by Eto’o, was circulated across social media platforms.
But the former Indomitable Lions captain has since moved to deny these assertions via a Facebook post.
“Several sites have circulated a rumour that I would have given money to every migrant returnee, in relation to a topical issue. This rumour is absolutely unfounded,” the former Barcelona and Inter Milan man noted.
“I would, therefore, take advantage of this opportunity, dear brothers and sisters to emphasise that love prevents more evils than money can solve."
